Stone, Timber volumes, and Water Define Resort Beach Club
Â
Located at the southwestern edge of the development, the Resort Beach Club in Peloponnese is positioned in direct relationship with the adjacent marina. Designed by Georges Batzios Architects, the project draws on the spatial qualities of the region’s waterfront settlements and the character of the nearby fishermen’s bay, translating these references into a contemporary architectural composition.
Â
The beach club is organized as a cluster of natural stone volumes connected by outdoor spaces, timber pergolas, and water elements. The arrangement establishes a gradual transition between the built environment, the landscape, and the marina, while framing views toward the waterfront. Material choices, including locally expressive stone and timber structures, reinforce the project’s connection to its coastal setting.

Georges Batzios Organizes Two Pavilions Around Lagoon Pool
Â
The program is divided between two independent pavilions, each measuring approximately 300 sqm. The eastern pavilion accommodates the restaurant and associated service spaces, including the kitchen, storage areas, and back-of-house facilities. The western building contains the bar, marina management offices, retail functions, sanitary facilities, and supporting operational spaces required for marina activities.
Â
A central element of the project is the swimming pool, conceived as a landscape feature rather than a conventional recreational basin. Designed to evoke the character of a natural lagoon, the pool incorporates a series of underwater terraces that create varying depths and encourage different modes of use. The stepped configuration includes levels at -0.20 m, -0.40 m, -0.80 m, and -1.40 m, establishing a gradual transition from shallow to deeper water while contributing to the overall integration of architecture and landscape.
Â
Through the combination of stone volumes, timber shading structures, water features, and open-air circulation, the Resort Beach Club explores a contemporary interpretation of the Peloponnese waterfront environment. The project by Georges Batzios Architects Studio brings together hospitality, leisure, and marina-related functions within a spatial framework shaped by local architectural references, material continuity, and the relationship between land and sea.
